Bought this nifty belly pierce for my girlfriend the other day -- and don't anybody spoil the fun by revealing that it's really a lizard, not a newt/sal

I'd be interested in seeing pics of newt/sal-related paraphernalia that others here have!

These figurines, for example:

i have a few stuffed toys(one even labled fire salamander) and large rubber ambystomids, as for your inebriated newt-its also a drinking card game. i have a bunch of 'commander salamander' buttons (they are from a DC area clothing store in the 80's) and a ton of 100 year old prints from nature books. oh, and a few t-shirts....ill see if i can get pics.

i like those first sets you have there tim-are they commercially avalible still? that one is probably as close as i will come to owning an andersoni!

i often see rubber lizards painted with salamander patterns at walmart, but since the mold isnt caudate-i dont buy them

Yeah those painted ambystomids...I would love to get my hands on them. Anyone know where I could find them?

i had some for sale at IAD a few years back-let me check to see if i have any left-i of course kept 3 for me...:p

Paris, yes, those are actually quite well made, aren't they?! They're available here in Japan at collector shops. I think there are 6 or 7 kinds out now, all Japanese newt/sal species. I have pics somewhere of the others and will try to post them. In the meantime, I look forward to seeing yours!

I saw this being sold somewhere on the Net for $16,000 if I'm not mistaken:

I remember seeing that sculpture, but don't remember the price tag. If anyone comes across those ambystomid statues that Tim picture above please, send the info my way!

Forgot where to order this shirt:

Anybody know?

I have this one already and it's great:

Also, if anybody knows where I can acquire this poster, please contact me by email!

(Wish I could properly credit the pic but I took it off of kingsnake.com or somewhere else so long ago...)

Rob, I think that sculpture was being sold on ebay last year. The price was contained in the pic name, which is why I quoted it

I'll try to recall where I ordered those plastic figurines from.

I got this from eBay, but I'm not too fond of it. The figurines are very good quality, but they are firmly cemented to the platform. If anyone wants it, and is willing to pay postage plus a small donation to caudata.org, let me know.

Hi Leo, thanks for the link. I'm not sure whether you can order from overseas. I had my shirt sent to my brother in the U.S., and he forwarded it on to me here in Japan. It's a good quality shirt!

By the way, I just came across another piece of "newt jewelry" to decorate my girlfriend's belly button with!

Don't anybody even think of trying to outbid me!

(just kidding, I'm sure there are plenty to go around!)

Tim
do you think a bottle of the "inebriated newt" scotch whisky would be quite expencive to buy? I have a friend in Edimburgh...
