So I found this lump on my newt and my biggest fear is it being a tumor. Do any of you have any ideas? I'm really scared and don't know what to do. He looks pretty unhealthy to me... What can I do to help improve his condition? Should the bones by his tail bulge out like that?

It's more likely to be something like an abscess. Either way, you should consult a vet. Neither is treatable at home.

But you're right, he doesn't look healthy. Those bones are the hip-bones. They shouldn't be visible. What are you feeding? Does it get its fair share? Have you had them tested for parasites?

I've been feeding mealworms, pellets and any worms I can find recently. Id think he gets his fair share since he is the biggest in the tank but I've quarintined him in case. I'll try to find a herp vet. I think there is one a few towns over.

Just a question, are the newts wc or cb?

Best of luck with the vet!

They are WC. I've had them for years. They recently were bred for the first time this year though with many eggs laid. And thanks :)

Cancerous tumors of any sort are highly unlikely in caudates. Their natural regenerative abilites prevent cancers.

Most likely cause here, in order are:
abscess (infection, subdermal)
parasite (nematode or otherwise)
