You mentioned it was a hot day...I'm sure you're keeping track and making sure the temp is staying under 74 but maybe it's warmer in that area near the plant? They may just be really active juvies and it's definitely possible they've learned when feeding time is! but you might want to check the water parameters too, just to be on the safe side. If everything is in order though maybe try moving the plant to a different area in the tank? or try taking it out and seeing if the one axie (olive?) is still being so active? maybe she does/doesn't like the plant, (maybe someone can answer and maybe this is off topic but can they be allergic to certain things..?) I don't think it seems like concerning behavior if the water parameters and temperature are in check though
If it's not Ill or allergic as u suggested, I'd like to keep the plant. It is entertaining to watch but I will move it to make sure it is actually that one plant. Thanks for the reply!
Could she be using it to "scratch" herself......?A bit like a sheep with a particular tree or post? Does her skin seem irritated at all. Knowing how Bizzare ax can be she might just be playing in it!!
Looks a lot like some of my juveniles playing or waiting for food. One of mine liked to play in the filter out flow, swimming against the current slowly and then turning around and zooming across the tank again and again.
The skin looks nice and the slime coat is just right. I think s/he might be playing. These little boogers can certainly scare/amaze you! I'll move it today to see if s/he likes that plant... will update 2night. I love these fascinating creatures of mine
