Signed up a while back but have been a slacker about my intro. Been collecting, keeping and raising herps since 1972. Started with a California Newt (Taricha torosa) and it has grown and shrank several times since, not the newt my collection LOL. At one point in my childhood I had pairs of all 3 species (and sub-species) of Taricha. I was attempting to breed them, setting each up in the habitat that my various relatives and I collected them in. That is until a neighbor told my mom they were poisonous and all were dispatched back from whence them came. Dad wanted to let them go in a field (did I mention I grew up in the hot & dry Central Valley of California). I was 8 but argued furiously and responsibly until proper release was negotiated. I went from Curator to Environmentalist just like that :D
I currently have Cynops orientalis, C. pyrrhogaster, & Pachytriton labiatus as well as Bombina bombina, B.pachypus, B.variegata &B. orientalis I mention them all together because I have had some limited success in captive breeding (all but P. labiatus) in the past. These are all my CB offspring and actually cohabitate along withPoecilia wingei their main food source. I supplement their diet with fresh brine shrimp, blackworms and mini mealworms. I keep several other herps, inverts and many finned feathered and furry creatures as well. I think I may just take a road trip this fall and visit "my various relatives"

Welcome, Monk. I enjoyed your "curator to environmentalist" story, and look forward to seeing you on the forum!
