I have kept about 10-15 different aquatic Notophthalamus v. viridescens, but none of them ever looked like the one I recently got along with three others. As far as I can remember, all the aquatic notos I have ever kept have been the same dark olive green. But this one is a much lighter green and has countless black dots in the same spots as the others but then also on its side and head. Why is this? Is it just a simple variation such as red backs and their variation "lead backs". Also, this noto has a blue patch on its nose. Is this an illness?
Thanks
