Oddballs

Looking good, I hope your cleaning your tubs Ian :errr:

Lol, in the initial pics they were in tubs on daily water changes, the debris was from the previous day's food. I took the pics prior to cleaning. Now they are in planted tanks, livefood only, chopped worm, blackworm, hoglice. The second pics my biggest mosaic, kept on his own 6", gold with mottled black markings, got two like that.

I was being sarcastic lol, I wouldn't criticize your ability to raise Axolotls. That would be embarrassing !

Interested to see how the colour and patterns change as they grow.

On another note, what camera are you using? Do you have a smartphone ??

I know you were joking lol. Haven't a smart phone or decent camera, hence the **** pics, will borrow my dad's camera so I can get some good shots soon.

They are absolutely amazing. They've grown so much!

Livefood diet and low stocking density really helps maximise growth. I keep live food in their tank permanently, they are never short of snacks.

Woahhhh, I hope you get a great price for that little one! He/she is such a rarity, such a beautiful specimen!

Are you planning to breed the parents of these 'oddballs' again in the future? I'd imagine you'll get a lot of special interest from people wanting obtaining some of those eggs from you on the off chance they'll get one of the mosaics or chimera's.

They are absolutely fascinating. Nature is so astonishing sometimes.

Heredatability is very low with mosaics, I have been told by a couple of knowledgeable keepers. I'm hoping for more, I will be keeping and breeding a few mosaics for myself, I'm sure the eggs will be popular.

Ian, your axolotls are amazing. Such fantastic markings.

Chris, I couldn't help chuckling at your cheeky comment about water changes in the tubs.

Currently the highest bid for the half and half is £120 plus £60 delivery via specialist courier :)
