I brought an Axolotl which i named kracken who i belive was female. Moomin my current axolotl seemed to bully Kracken quite badly and Kracken died :( I know it wasnt the tank coz Moomins fine and Kracken wa fine for the 1st few days.

Kracken was about an inch smallerthan Moomin but i can see that being a reason to bully.

Any ideas why Kraken might have been bullied?
 
Did you quarantine the new axolotl before you added it to your tank with the other?

    Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

    Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
