I'm wondering if my olive's over weight? She looks soooo chubby now and her belly look likes a big ball? Is it too much I feed her but she looks so hungry everyday...what should i do?

Looks like Oliver ran into something.
He should be ok, just keep an eye on it.

I don't know about Olive - it looks like she's full of eggs actually...

I think the nose will be fine. Looks like she has eggs to me also.

If it was me, i would remove any rocks that apear jagged since axolotls can dart in any direction they feel fit when started at rather high speeds.

Your rock cave the axolotls are posting on doesnt exactly look all that smooth, it seems to have edges.

btw how long do your shrimp last before comeing food?

I wouldnt worry mate, Olive's tummy is only slighter bigger than Moopy's. Females are naturally curvy, right? ;) Of course, if you see white things on the plants next week then you'll know Amber was right :p

oh oliver's poor nose, I hope it gets better! Btw your pictures are great Morrisey

Thanks and I really hope Oliver would get well very soon! And he still ate few pellets when I tried to feed him, but I have to cut the pellets into 2 small pcs instead of a big one. Otherwise he will pour it out. I think it hurt a bit when he swallow a big one...

For Olive, will it be digest problem? These 2 days, I notice that her poo's not in shape, but in dusty like thing, it looks like she poo out some dust in dark orange color. Strange.....but she still non-stop eating and chasing the shrimp.

And Forrest,

I think 70% of the shrimp will be eaten within the first 2 days I put them in, and the rest will become food slowly...I put 40 Tiger Shrimp into the tank last night.

There's a little black thing attach/goes into Oliver's hurt nose...will it cause a problem or should I remove it???
I took a picture of it! Thanks!

he seems alright, if it was bothering him that much you probably wouldn't see him walking around at all.

There was a black sand went inside to his cut near the nose...I's worried and tried to take it off from there gentle, however it didn't work, it looks like the sand's under his skin...lucky a night before when I back home after work, the sand already came off him his nose!!! I'm so happy, I didn't know how did he make it, but he DID it himself!

It often works it's way out - the same way a splinter does in human flesh

Morrissey didn't I tell you last week exactly what amber just told you? Oh, ye of little faith... :p

Ah ha! Thanks Matt & Amber, I know...but you know i'm fussy! LOL

that is one fat axie! and those gills are fluffy!
Feed something more balanced, not those wax worms or beef heart, that is if she isnt full of eggs. Or feed less often?
What do u feed it? earthworms and pellets are best, but variety is good.

Hey Teesha,

I feed olive with pellets and shrimp!

If she has eggs, how long does it take for her until to lay eggs?

Olive is sooo pretty! I love her colouring! And I must admit I think fat axies are so cute!!But yeah, if she doesn't have eggs, maybe you should feed her a bit less, for health reasons

I think the belly may be full of the little pebbles in the tank, mine was the same till i moved him to sand and within 5 days 25 pebbles where out and he was a lot skinnier.

Ah! after a week, the reason for her chubby's that she got tons of eggs, she just laid them all yesterday!
haha....lots of babies to deal with in the coming future!
