One Axolotl..

I've got only one now, and if it weren't for my plans to go away for 6 months I'd have at least 2 by now. But I'm realistic and know my mum won't care for more than one... so a friend for my beautiful girl will have to wait until I'm back from the US

I started with 3, two wildtypes and a melanoid, which turned out to be all male.

Then I raised a handful of eggs, and ended up with like 10 out of those. I kept two, a eyeless super-dark wildtype, and a regular wildtype. I kept the 5 for a while and then downsized and got rid of 3 of my wildtype males.

Evidently my female didn't like an audience; once those males were gone, her and the melanoid bred. I raised a couple sets of babies, and kept a couple. A friend of mine took 3 of them (and in my original 55gallon tank). They're huge now, 12+ inches.

Then my breeding pair died, so now I'm left with my one lone offspring, who's about 4 years old.

I started off with 2, a wild type and an albino. I lost my albino to illness earlier in the year and have been tempted to get anther but my wildtype is living up to his name and is a bit of a "nipper" so reluctant to put a living "toy" in the tank for him to play with LOL...

This is super embarrassing as I've only had my lotls for just over a week and I'm already obsessed.
While I was doing my research, I thought that leucistics were really cute, so I had to have one. But I couldn't have him be lonely... so I decided to get a golden as well. I was also torn over wild types but I couldn't spend the money on 3 axies plus shipping
That's when the seller I found told me that if I purchased a leucistic and a golden that I'd get a wild type for free! So I immediately took that offer.

Shipping time came, and some complications came up that delayed my shipment for a week, and the seller told me that since I had been so patient that I could have another axolotl for free, any type, including GFP! I wanted to say YES YES YES! ...but then I glanced over at my 30 gallon tank, knowing that I didn't have enough room for a fourth I actually admire my self restraint haha.

But I know that I will probably have to upgrade my tank in a year or so, and when I do I'm planning on getting another! Unless my axies mate of course (don't know their genders yet), so they could do all the getting for me.

I never started with just one, I started with some eggs a fellow forum member sent me. Then I got given more eggs... and then I saved an axi from a mean man at a pet shop....

At the moment I'm trying not to rush to another shop I saw one in and save him too. I'm half-heartedly trying to sell a few at the moment, my bf keeps telling me we need to get rid of some... BUT I DON'T WANNA!
