I currently have a 3ftx12inx20in tank, do you think it's okay to have 3or maybe 4 axies? Obviously I would have many hides etc but I think 4 is too many?

I think 4 may be a little too crowded once you have your hides, plants etc placed in the tank as well space is going to be tight. Axolotls grow fast and grow big!

Yea I agree, there's already maybe 3 hides in there got my adult and I think to have at least one hide each, some more plants and room for them to be happy 4 is too many

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
