I’ve had this axolotl for just about a year and she’s about a year old. I’ve been feeding her an earthworm every other day. I’ve read that healthy weight is for their bodies to be the same width as their heads and she looks rather heavy but i don’t want to underfeed her either. I’ve also been researching a bit on dwarf axolotls and maybe she could be a dwarf but i’m not sure. I just wanna make sure that she’s healthy

she definitely has a dwarf body type. id bet anything she either has dwarfism or short toe syndrome. i’d suggest researching the two extensively and continuing her current diet

Thorninmyside:Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation+1
