Nice animals, I also have P.Waltl, but my waltl's look like they have an other type of skin? Can anybody explain that?

Well I have come to understand that there is a fair ammount of variation withen the species, I have heard comments that mine have a certian variation here and there. It's difficult to see from the pictures, I am still working things out with lighting(It tends to lighten up the yellowish colors), but they seem to have a dark goose poop green on the top of back with brown spots, rather then just being a very dark brown in the pictures. but more of a leapord type light and dark pattern on the sides. The have so many diffrent colors, they might nt be bright, but they are there.

Can anyone else post some shots for comparison?

Paris! Show us some pictures of the uncles! I also am curious to see the tanks you are using for the waltl.

Hey Paris,
Are they the same ones you had for a while? Who's offspring did they come from? I can't remember if any of the ones you have came from my colony. If your colony has a different gene pool, I'm in need of a couple of males this spring. keep me in mind when you babies morph. I have 4 very gravid females and my two males are kind of small. I lost my large breeding male last year.

I just hope they up to the task!

Jeff is right and there are some color variations of tan, yellow, and green, but it is very subtle.
Some have a darker mottled appearance too.
