Hi all, here's some P. brevipes shots.

NICE. Those are quite a bit different from the "brevipes" I used to have. Really interesting. Mine were more orange with larger black spots.
 
I guess I could say the same about my pair --more orange with larger black spots -- but then Nate's look pretty young from the pics. How big are they and how young?

I've seen both dark and light versions of brevipes, and I have the lighter version.

I see at least one of your males has the distinctive white spots. I wonder how long it takes for them to begin appearing...

Well, these animals are large adults, not young at all. I guess my photos don't show them as clearly as I'd like, but a couple of the animals are very similar to your photo, Tim. Except they are a more metallic orange color...the one male at the top is definitely "brown" while the rest are a sort of metallic orange-brown.

Ah well, never a dull moment with Pachytriton, eh?
