paddletail newt in 12" by 7" tank

I have Chucky, my paddletail, in a tank that is 12" by 7". I have a whisper filter and a turtle dock, but I'm just wondering if that is an ok size for him, because he is really small.

If your newt is a paddle-tail newt then that tank is going to be too small for it. A good minimum size is a 10 gallon aquarium (20"x10") but bigger is always better. My paddle-tail is easily 6 inches long and was one of the smaller animals available.
