Hi everyone-
My golden leucistic is very pale today- ate well but without vigor. Everybody else looks and acts fine. On sand- he is about 8 inches. I heard he could just be sleeping? Pics attached with parameters and normal/pale pic.

Any thoughts?

It looks in excellent condition. When axolotls are asleep or just inactive they often go lighter. This is more noticable on darker ones, with a light axolotl you only really see the change in the gills, less blood is pumped through them to collect oxygen.

Thanks so much for your reply! I figured it was probably nothing serious, but just wanted to check!

Same thing happened to me. freaked me out so much. I thought he was dying! Turns out he was napping and he got a rude awakening! Haha
