I've seen reviews for Penn Plax Reptology Vivariums and they're not glowing at all. But if you're handy enough, can you make it work? Some of the reviews mention gaps and bad silicon jobs, but I can repair that myself. I'm looking at a 35.5"x15.75"x23.75" model for my Tiger Salamander.

Anyone have any experience with these? Is it worth a try if I can fix it up or is it just going to be a big disappointment?

This is personal opinion only, so take that to heart...but..I've been close to the pet industry for a long time, and my gut reaction when I hear the word Penn Plax is thin plastic junk.

But, vivs may be a different story. I was not aware that Penn Plax was making them. As far as I knew, Penn Plax was barely in business anymore.
