I've been posting in the off-topic section alot lately, mainly because I don't have anything thats on topic to talk about!
This is really just an update on the Tiger Salamander (still haven't named him). He's been hiding in his fern and underground for 2 weeks but now he's suddenly changed his attitude. Last night I hand fed for the first time and I woke up this morning to find him out in the open which was strange. Then when I got home he started moving up to the glass and followed me along it. He was moving around and climbing on his rock.
I just thought it was funny how suddenly he changed and developed this instant out going personality. He seems healthy, happy, and fat.
That's pretty much it =P. Like I said, not much to talk about.

Sounds like a good time to reach for the camera and let it rip. :p

You haven't named him yet?!

How about Abrahm's suggestion of "Huitzilopochtli, after the Mexica god of battle"? You could call him Huitzi, Lopo or Pochtli for short. ;)

Cheers Jacq.

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
