Pixar 2012 future movie "newt" has been cancelled, the project was going to be a rom-com about the last 2 blue footed newts on earth, being brough together for a last chance CB project and not getting on at all, the classic newt meets newt, newt hates newt, newt learn to love newt, newt has lots of larvae story ;).

Whilst I am disapointed about the cancelation, and was hoping this could have had a good effect on caudate conservation, I was dreading the unavoidable holocaust of WC FBNs dying in the end of kids getting them for crimbo after the movie...

I was kind of curious, despite the soppy sound of the story.
I too, however, am thrilled for the hundreds of newts carrying the inspiring name "Newt" that won´t die horribly.

I cant even begin to tell you how many people I had to reject from buying Clown Fish when Finding Nemo was released. Every middle aged mom was coming in with screaming kids and a shopping cart with a gold fish bowl waiting to claim the life of an unsuspecting " Nemo ".

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
