Plant problems

I am setting up a new tank for some tigers, and I want to put in several live plants. The problem is that I dont trust that plants sold in stores were not planted with fertilizers... No one seems to know at the nurseries that I went to. Can anyone share how they got past this obstacle?
Also, I saw Irish moss and thought it would look good in the tank. Has anyone used this?

welll for plants what i do is i take that plant out of the pot and shake all the soil off the roots. Then i wash them, after this i replant it in the tank. I never fertilize the plants, i think the tiger sal poop is good fertilizer

Good point. Ill just rinse the roots off before i plant them in the tank.

Another approach (long-term) is to keep houseplants in the house as "cutting donors" (Pothos, ivy, etc.). Then when you want a terrarium or aquarium plant, you just cut off some pieces and stick them in the dirt or gravel in the terrarium/aquarium.
