I would like to know hat people from caudata.org use to plant in their tiger salamanders set ups.
I am going plant shopping next weekend and would like some ideas of hearty and safe plants to use.
Thank ya!

Anything you plant will probably be uprooted. You can try various grasses or ferns that are low-light adapted.

I gave up on live plants for the reason Joan cites. I like silk plants that look real. They add a natural feel and are easily cleaned when changing substrate every 6 or so weeks.

i find that the best way to have plants in a tiger tank is to leave them in their pots and bury the pot. it makes it easier to remove when you change the substrate and also stops the tigers ripping the roots off when they dig. it also stops the plant from growing too big.

There’s always a chance that shop bought pot plants have been fed fertilizers - or worse treated with pesticides. To be on the safe side I always remove all the soil from pot plants, wash the roots, leaves and re-pot in a suitable fertilizer free soil before placing in the vivarium.
