anyonehave an resources that show species that live on this island? Tim Johnson's photos of their habitat are great but a plant list would be incredibly useful.

I would be interested in an Okinawan plant list as well. I would like to use some sort of low light terrestrial besides pothos. I tried mondo grass in one of the Echinotriton enclosures however it seems to be slowly falling apart.

A quick trawl of my(rather extensive) favourites yeilded the following, hope they're of some use.

The links on the second page also give some source material you could look into.

I think I marked these pages some years ago when I briefly kept Rana Holsti, the majority of the links I have seem to be dead now. Good luck with whatever you end up doing but be aware that a fair few of the species listed there are quite difficult to find/pricy.

Based on research I've done...it looks like a biotope could be made with the following

-assorted ferns(Korean rock fern, lemon button fern, etc. to mimic the wide variety of ferns in Okinawa)
-Asplenium nidus(bird's nest fern...if your tank is big enough)
-Peperomia japonica
-Schleffera sp.

A ginger species might round it off but I've yet to find one in the trade.
