Hello all,

Four days ago, I moved my axolotl from my college dorm to my house. It was a five hour drive and he was kept cold for the entire drive. When I got home, he looked really white, including his gills (I have a leucistic). I put water in my new tank by using my betta fish's bowl to pour water in. I thought that sink the rocks in the betta bowl had been in there for quite some time with my betta, that this would help my tank cycle. I put my axolotl in the tank after letting the tank sit for two hours with the filter running. When I put him in, he was still really pale and didn't move much. He did this thing where he would flick his gills (I read that this was to rush oxygen over them). It's been four days and he's barely eaten anything, isn't moving much and his gills are really really pale. I've replace all the water in his tank and all the levels are perfect. The temperature is between 68 and 64. I don't know what to do. I'm afraid he's dying.
Help me please. I'm so worried for my little guy.

It sounds to me like the change in water chemistry has really shocked him. What's the pH of the water and what are the hardness levels (general and carbonate)?
