I had my axi for about 4 months and no problems.. a couple of days ago he started getting a red dot on his back and within a couple of days his skin is in getting eaten away.. this makes me sick just thinking about what our lil guy is going threw..

I will attach some photos.. please all advice will help me so much.. i am a first time owner and im in over my head at this point..

At first we thought he was maybe peeling so we started salt baths.. been treating twice a day for a couple days now..

Pm me, with any urgent help advise.. thanks

You should get that axie to a vet as soon as possible. There's a sticky on the sick axolotl section that gives the good caudate vets.
Good luck! I'm sorry I wasn't more help.

I definitely agree, but I would fridge him in new fresh treated water until you know more. I say fresh because if the problem is your water, he will at least be out of it.

Check out the fridging guide here on this forum for more details.

Is this a fungus problem? And yes water is no being watched and changed on a regular basis

I feel like **** not looking this forum up the first day i got him, there is so much i messed up on. But that has changed and i can now care for him properly.

In this picture is a new setup after i read forum.. i will be in contact with vet asap!

Hello, been worrying about your little one - any progress / improvement ? Keep us updated .... Poor little thing

This is not fungus. Doing salt baths is probably exacerbating the problem. This is a necrotizing flesh wound, and you'll need some serious antibiotics.
