Plenthodons that don't constantly hide?

I really like the idea of keeping these salamanders but the one thing that's particularly hard to find information on is which species you might have a chance at actually seeing! Some species I find are so fossorrial they are hard to view even at night. It seems without much need to search for food some are content to stay hidden the vast majority of the time.
 
Hi,
Small species like Plethodon cinereus, fed with small surface preys like fruit flies, can often be seen, specially in the evening if you mist the substrate.
Giving some ants with their larvae can also be grateful as ants carry the larvae on the substrate and the salamanders catch them.
