Here arew some pics of the 40 gallon I set up for (3) cb salamanders I bought. My first time owning salamanders, so I wanted to make sure I did it right.
Layers are (bottom to top):
clay balls for drainage
nylon screen to seperate substrate from clay drain
old forrest soil
leaves
coco coir & topsoil mix
moss and leaves
Depth ranges from 2-10" of substrate above the screen barrier with old rotten hardwood and flat sones burried throughout creating about a dozen different caves.
No additional lights or anything, just placed by a window.
Any thing I missed?
