Hi everyone,
Just wondering if people could have a look at a few pictures of our Axi, Kip.
He was attacked by our second about month or so ago. He lost one of his front legs and a chunk of his tail from this. We decided to divide the tank until he was healed and see what happened.
A few days ago he was looking a lot better. His tail had pretty much healed, and his leg is growing back. We took the divide out to see if they would get on ok again.
Unfortunately, we spotted Tye latched onto Kip's tail. We separated them immediately.
Kip is now looking worse than ever. The tip of his tail is very white. His skin isn't looking too good at the moment. He has 2 white patches near his back legs (looks slightly cottony). his legs are trailing behind him when he doesn't move...but can move them perfectly when he moves about. And his gills are disappearing. They don't look anywhere near as...."impressive" as they used to.
Tye, our other Axi, seems to be in perfect health, his gills are fine he has no infections he is eating perfectly and swims around all the time. It's such a shame
He doesn't move around like he used to at all anymore, and he seems to be always stressed, putting his body into constant "S" shape.
So far we have given him 2 salt baths (yesterday and today), in the hope that will rid him of any infection. We have gone and brought some Myxazin in the hope this will help him too.
He also isn't eating at all anymore unless you sit and pretty much hand feed him, if he is handfed he will eat much more food, but it is still no where near the amount he used to eat
We are really worried about him. He is looking so unwell compared to how we are used to him.
We have made the decision to find a new home for Tye, to make sure he cant do anymore damage to Kip. It is such a shame because when we got Tye, we saved him from the aquarium because he was injured then.
If anyone could have a look at these and give us some tips it would be great!
Any idea's at all to get him back to full health!
