Poorly axie

Hi all I fed my axie a tiny bit of cooked beef (lean)
And now he's not eating I feed him little pellets which he normally loves but he keeps spitting them out and bought some worms and he's turning his nose up at that too but he seems quite happy swimming around doin what axies do it's been 2 days now and normally I feed him daily HELP

Beef is an inappropriate food so you may wish to discontinue its use. How old/big is the axolotl ? As they get older they need less feeding, as babies they require daily feeding, as adults they may only feed a couple of times a week.

Its like I always say; just because we can eat it doesn't mean they can! I know many people that do feed their axolotl beef and such but it really isn't a great food choice and does nothing really but fill their stomachs. In future I'd stick to earthworms (chopped if too large) or even bloodworms which are available at most pet shops these days - even pets at home stock them! Pellets are fine if nothing else is available. Keep an eye out to see if he's passed it over the next week and likewise if he's an adult, he may just not be hungry. :happy:

I realise now that it was a bad idea I have got everything that they could want and I've even treated them to much bigger tank I've got them the works now blood worms earth worms pellets so they've got a whole varied diet I think he's past the beef now but he's lost a bit of size a bit less than he usually is but I'm just going to bare it for a bit and se how he goes on thanks again for the info
