I have to move my axolotl halfway across the country. I have found quite a few battery-powered aerator filters, but no battery powered chiller as yet. Since this is a move, it might take 2-3 days of driving. So I plan to situation the portable tank in the trunk of my Volvo Cross Country, thoroughly secured. The “trunk” is actually inside the car, so air conditioning would reach the tank. There is even a 12 volt outlet near the spot I will place the tank.

I don’t want to “bag” her and put her in a cooler. I think there MUST be better solutions.

First thing is the quality plastic tank (seems like glass would be a bad idea).
Then, just really need the filter, with media, to maintain the chemistry.

I also need advice on getting ready - I will need to set up this portable tank, without the axie in it (I guess). It takes some time to set up tanks, for me at least. I am wondering about putting ghost shrimp or something in the tank during the set up period.

During the trip, I will need to bring her into the hotel. So I am looking at those 2.5 gallon tanks people put on their desks.
