On my albino axolotls lower body, he seems to be bloated and dark blue in colour. The bloat moves from left to right, but mainly stays on the left side. Any recommendations/advice? Should I even be worried? On Facebook I've gotten a bunch of mixed reviews and ultimately just want a happy axolotl.
I've had my axolotl a week now. Bought at a pet store. They kept him on gravel and the other axies bullied him. He seems much happier now. He swims around, eats, goes for air no problem. His gills are forward - although not as pink as I'd like - they have not changed colour since I had him.
Tank results (tested with API master kit)
PH: 8.2
Ammonia: 1.5
Nitrate: 0
Nitrate: 0
60-62 F / 18C
I'm working on cycling my tank properly. I began adding API Ammo Lock (ammonia detoxifier) in the tank every 2 days as instructions say 2 days ago. I also added floating plants today (April 3,2017) to help with the ammonia.
