Possible pair

i have just received a possible pair of paddle tailed newts i have one with a black body with red spots going along the sides with an orange rimmed tail and and red and black belly
and the other is chocolate brown with orange rimmed tail and red and black belly they also both have orange throats.Coud this be a male and female.Thank you in advance

Also, males will develop white spots at the end of their tails. I *believe* this indicates sexual maturity.
