So a couple days ago I topped off my tank with some water from the tub. I don’t remember if I chlorinated it or not. I remembered this morning that I might not have and rushed upstairs and put prime in her tank. She’s been more active, swimming around frantically these past few days but she’s always been active. I transferred her to a cooler (her tank was a little warm) tub and made sure to dechlorinate the water and I noticed her tail and feet are a little red. I have pictures attached. I also covered her tub with a thick black towel.

I don't know how much exposure they can take and hopefully wolfen can chime in here, but she looks mostly okay. Watch out for infections from burns. It is good that you are meticulous about this and you did the right thing to treat the water as soon as you remembered and also got it away from the chlorinated water as soon as possible.

She seems to be doing better, I did a large water change on her tank yesterday and put her back in. Turns out her tank wasn’t warm the thermometer was off. I had it calibrated to 6.7 F instead of 0.0 F. The redness has already gone down as well. Thank you for your help!! I feel so dumb, I’ve had her a couple years and this is the first time I’ve forgotten😂😂

if you ever think you have added chlorinated water, remove the amount added then re-add dechlorinated water. don't run the filter if you think the water isn't dechlorinated. if you can having activated carbon in the filter will remove chlorine, also bottled nitrifying bacteria is useful in cases like this or just as a top up. keep an eye on the water parameters to make sure everything is working smoothly.

Ah ok, thank you! She seems back to normal, being active but not frantic like she was. Thank you for the tips!
