I have just added a female to my tank which is already inhabited by a male. If they should happen to breed, how long can the eggs stay in the tank safely as a rearing tank may not be immediately available?

I take them out soon as I find them (not sure if that's recommended or not). Mine will start eating it near enough soon as it's laid!

Mine did not eat any of the eggs at all.
