Hey everyone

I am looking to create a couple more hiding places for my axie. I see that many people have terra cotta pots in their tanks. My question is how do you cut the pot in half? Thanks!!

I took the advice of someone here and soaked the pots for a couple of days and used my dremel tool w/a round disk blade to cut through mine.

I found for the larger & thicker pots - it helps if you soak for a couple of days, make a preliminary cut, soak for a day and finish the cutting.

I agree. Soak them in water for a few days first, then Dremel tool them is easiest. I have also used an die grinder with a cut-off wheel on dry pots.

One reminder on using pots, if there are drain holes or the like in the pot either enlarge it to a size to allow adult animals to pass through easily, or plug it up. Your caudates can get stuck in these holes otherwise and drown or get lacerated severely.
