So i tried searching through the forums for "cycling" (seems a popular term, lots of related and unrelated stuff). I had found at one point a How-to using pure ammonia as the initial starter, but can't seem to find it now.

Does anyone here have a site/ forum topic, etc. they use when cycling? I could use a good guideline to follow. I just set-up my new 30 gallon tank and filled it 1/2 way with new water. Have an Eheim 2231 on order as well.

thanks

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
