cool pics. i love roos too. we have wallabys living wild here in England! can you believe it? because i couldn't when i saw a dead one in the middle of the a19 road. me and my boyfriend thought it was half a deer or some animal like that but when we got closer we realised it had huge legs and that. poor thing. i bet whoever ran it over was a little shocked at what it was!
There more use to humans than kangaroos in the bush would be and much more road wise but there is ones that are much tamer. I had an awesome experience this year with a school camp we went to bridge town (small town down south) where we actually could pat the kangaroos there and feed them. But you still had to be careful as there could still knock your guts out. I also was able to feed the emus there. This was all in a small holiday place with a park in the middle (not were we stayed)
a friend of mine was driving to town from the cattle station that we worked at and he hit a big red roo, now these roo's are very large especially the males and are very aggresive, well when he hit the roo it went over the bonnet and through the windscreen and into his 4wd ute and got stuck but it also panicked and nearly killed him trying to get out. He was in hospital for ages and has heaps of scars around his upper body.
That’s funny I used to live in Manjimup 30 minutes away from Bridgetown, so feral down there nice for a holiday but not to live. its cheep to by land in Bridgetown but prices are going up
and no I didn’t get any pics.
also to your comment Denise my family used to always hit roos (well maybe not always) but never has one gone through the windscreen but I can understand if it was a boomer (big male). We once looked after a Joey (mum was hit, not by us) we called him Joe what a dumb name. we thought it was good at the time though.
ooooh Roos! Thanks Nathan for taking those for me! They're so noble looking! man I wish we had them here in the states. I like the pic of your axie, she looks like she is looking off into the sun or some light, very nice! Sorry to read about the roos getting hit
That's sad, but good that people care for them to help
