Ok so this is technically not a frozen item but I was not sure where else to post. This is a caridina (sp?) species marketed for turtles. I picked up a can and fed it out to the various tylos. The individual shrimps were too large to feed whole however they are easily broken into smaller sections. The exoskeleton is present however it is brittle. Overall the herd snapped it right up with the exception of a few individual taliangensis whom did not seem interested. The only drawback is the smell - I actually did not have a problem with it but my wife who was two rooms away at the time had a word or two to say... Although I would not offer this item on a regular basis it will make a nice variety item to add in from time to time.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
