Does anyone have any care guides or reliable sources for anything breviceps? I feel like getting breviceps mossambicus would be most realistic, but even then I haven’t seen any for sale in ages! (Aside from backwater reptiles, if that even counts) Does anyone know anyone who has experience with this species, could point me in the right direction, or who could potentially sell me a couple? I’ve been hoping to get a few for forever now, and life is finally at a point where that would be possible! If only I could find some! So jealous of Japan, the little guys seem to be everywhere over there!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
