looks good. But prepare for hell. Are you going to be doing water changes everyday? I have mine in jugs and thats a hassle but fast, hows it working when using the tank? Keep us updated

nah, i don't see a need to. maybe partials every week and clean with a turkey aster after feeding.

since im not a big baller with the super zoom lens i tried a lil something different to show you peeps what's going on with my eggs.

^^^ thanks. they are developing real quick. they got form and look like they wanna pop out already.

The larva tank needs more water, more plants, and a smaller airstone.

50% is the maximum viability for marmoratus eggs, so it's highly unlikely you'll get 11 hatchlings. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, read the caresheet.

more? i didn't want to do it too deep cause i didn't want them to drown when they morph and lose gills.

yeah i know about the 50% death rate i wasn't sure when it kicked in. seems like a week ago. so it looks like i got 5 kids.

btw, jen where their parents terres. or water? im building in a 55 gallon and i wanna know if it should be 50/50 land to water or 25/75 land to water.

You should provide a land area when they are ready to morph. But that will take while, and in the meantime you can raise the waterlevel.

that's what the second tank is for. it has a log in the corner that is cocked so it's easier to get on. i got a total of 6 survivors and 3 are out and swimming a little.

Looking good Chris. One of my females laid about 20 eggs last night, carefully folding a leaf around each one. My marms were only inch long morphs when I bought them so it's great to see them laying their first eggs as young adults. I think there's many more eggs to come - the female resembles a whale in shape!

Here she is laying eggs with much concentration.

Best of luck raising yours. I shouldn't worry too much about the land stage just yet. They will be many months away from morphing. When they morph they will be completely terrestrial and will only require a shallow water dish.

damn! i just started setting up my 55 gallons for less land setup. guess i'll hafta replan it.
