I have a ton of the 16 and 32 oz containers from raising tadpoles... Would it be possible to raise baby axies in those? Each could have it own cup?

Also if it is possible can I put lids on the cups... if not it is not really a problem as I have a whole tabel set up down stairs I can set the individual cups on.

Any advice is appreciated.

Not quite sure how big those are.
I personally would find that too time consuming.
That does depend on how many you plan to raise.

Daily water changes on many many containers would be sooooo time consuming.

I would go for no lid, the temperature in small tubs can raise very quickly and with a lid i think that would be a lot worse.

I find raising them all together much easier. Of course that's how I wound up raising most of my dart frog tadpoles too. It doesn't work well for all dart frogs because some are more aggressive. It does work well for axolotls as along as they are well fed.

OK all together it is. Well not all together but not individually. In groups lets say. I dont want to crowd too much.

Thanks guys.

I've found raising 5-6, two inch youngsters in a ten gallon tank was fairly easy until they were almost five inches long. Then,I placed them indvidually in 1/2 gal. bowls to over six inches. One gal. bowls till almost eight inches. Gavin

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
