I can advise on the snail... The snail will likely be hiding away because of the water quality. Check your water quality and get it right again and the snail should come out again. You are right, he would stink if he were dead.

The only way your bloodworms will be affecting the health of your animals is if they are rotting in the tank and fouling the water. Don't forget to clean up thoroughly after feeding. Why don't you try using a feeding jar. I've never personally used one but others say it reduced the mess from bloodworms and makes it much easier to clean up the uneaten food.

I'm glad there looks to be an improvement in the gills. I'd keep him in the fridge until you know the water is good in the tank.
