I'm curious if it's okay and healthy to feed raw salmon to juveniles?
I usually have left overs or small scraps when i'm done making sushi and figured if it would be safe to feed.

Thanks, Britt.

Well, salmon are salt water fish so I wouldn't recommend it, however if you are making sushi with any other type of freshwater fish then it wouldn't hurt as the odd treat.

You could feed it, and it would probably be fine. But there really is no reason to, and they will not benefit from it. There is a chance of a problem, and earthworms are always better. So don't. Keep the scraps for yourself. I love eating the bits left after sushi - I wouldn't give a single bite of some good salmon to my pets!

Alright thanks.
It never hurt to ask and i couldn't find any other threads on it.
I kept seeing raw fish on a couple feeder pages and i also like giving more options when it comes to food.

Majority of the tie i just throw the left overs out side to the street cats, don't like the smell of fish in the garbage or fridge.

The only benefit from feeder fish is the calcium from the bones. This isn't a factor with fish slivers, so I agree with Elena, there's not a whole lot of benefit from feeding fish filets.

The cats will enjoy it much more.
