Currently we have two axolotls. One has developed entirely red back feet. Except the tips of the toes which are still normal in color. This started about four days ago with one back foot, then the other back foot the next day. Seems like it isn't red leg from what I have read, not very spot like, more entirely red. Although I am not sure what else it could be. Red footed axolotl is in the fridge and staying in the same condition, no improvements or further reddening. Axolotl was eating fine and behaving normal prior. Still acting fine and eating. Other axolotl is normal as ever. Very curious as to what this might be.

Red footed axolotl is doing a lot better. One foot is almost completely back to normal, and the other one seems on it's way to completely better. Still really curious what this could have been? Does anyone have any ideas?

Maybe an ammonia burn?

The husband got the water checked. Said everything was fine. It's the weirdest thing. The back feet are almost 100% back to normal. Our other axolotl is still fine also. I feel like the feet got caught under something. We did have a cave like thing in the tank which we have taken out now. I feel like it might have been injury from that.

Mine had an accident with a tabk mate when accidently mixing up a worm with the other ones leg :/ he quickly let go when realising the worm was still there n her foot had turned red .. Mybe an accident with a tankmate. Ornament or plastic plant? X
