Red spot on tail, what is it?

Hey,
This might be my paranoid self, but i havnt really looked and examined my axie until the other day when he was in the fridge. On the top of his tail he has like a red spot about 5mm i guess in diameter. He is a black/olive colour. Today he was up against the glass and i noticed he has what looks like veins or something in his tail that are the same colour as the red spot.

Is this something normal or should i be worried? He doesnt look sick or act sick. I took him out the fridge on wednesday arvo and he's only just started eating today (friday), i'm guessing he didnt want to eat from being in the fridge.

Thanks

maybe the heat still? whats the temp of the tank?or he hurt himself. my leucistics get veins/go a bit red when theyre stressed or hot, its wierd that you can see his veins on a dark one though unless hes a youngin and his colours are still see-throughish. got a pic?

Could the red spot be from red leg maybe? My leucisitic axie had a red spot on his tail and one on his leg, but it went away within a month with seemingly no negative effects on him

it just looks like a blood spot type thing. The only reason i can see it is when he come up next to the glass with the light behind him you can just make out like mark. The mark is on the fin bit of the tail not the meat part. I have been trying to keep the tank cooler, its at 21-22 (which is good due to the temp atm).

I was considering putting him back in the fridge, but he seems fine so i guess i'll just monitor him. I'll try and post some photo's after work today.

I have had him for a year and not noticed it before. It doesnt look like he has a mark on top of his colour skin, it looks like its under his skin (if that makes sense) and you can only see it because he has like specks of white one him.

Is it normal for him to take a few days to eat again after being in the fridge?

Thanks

yes it is normal for him to take a few days to eat again after being in the fridge because the cooler temperatures will slow his motabalism down a lot.

skylar - my axie has done the same thing as yours when a red spot appears but goes away and the axie never showed any signs of stress.

emily - are there any sharp objects in your tank that your axie could of hit?.

I dont think he could hurt himself in my tank, there is a piece of drift wood, a terracotter (spelt wrong) pot and some plants. He could have hurt it when he jumped out of a bucket. He hit the side of his head and he started to bleed from his gills (i think). Thats the reason why he was in the fridge.

He has slowly started eating again, but only very small bits. when i hold the food near him, its like he wants to eat it, he smells it, but then cant be bothered eating it. I have managed to get him to eat small amounts of frozen brine shrimp.

I took some photos of his tail, its extremely hard to tank clear shots of it, but i hope you can see it. I couldnt get a photo of the vein looking marks because they are small and dont show up on the photo.

Also, is it normal for their mouth to be slightly open at times? I cant recall if he has always had his mouth open, but now i'm worried about every detail cos he was injured.

No, You did a great job on the photo. i am to new in this to know, but someone else will.

IMO it looks exactly like the red spots i've had on my axie. If its the same, then its nothing to worry about especially if he seems healthy otherwise.

ok thanks so much, thats good news
