Hello All!

I have a vermiposting bin on my porch where I raise red wigglers. I was wondering if I could take a sampling of the population and start an axie-only bin inside? Currently I've only been feeding my guy a worm as a rare snack, and only after its been sitting in aquarium water for a while to "clean out." Is this method safe?

Thanks!

Many amphibian keepers avoid using red wigglers as feeders, due to the foul tasting, possibly toxic substance that they exude. I've read reports of various herp species dying after ingesting them.
Personally, I use European night crawlers. They are larger than red wigglers, and easy to culture.

Good to know! I'll see if I can find see some today! Thanks!
