I've heard that people switch the season around and hibernate their newts in the summer, and take them out during the winter as it's hard to keep the newt's water cool in the summer. I've wanted to try it this summer as well, but I couldn't get enough information on how to do it. I've heard people just stick their newts in their refrigerators and leave them there for a few months, but I want to learn a bit more before I actually do it. I have two alpine newts, how do I store them in the refrigerator and what temperature should the refrigerator be? Do I need to feed them while they "hibernate" as I heard they sometimes still need to eat just not as often? Thank you!
