when doing a water change today i found a thing that looked like a something ive seen when my axies have regurgitated. but its twice the size and its rock solid! i dont know how long its been there for but what is it? i wouldnt have though that something they regurgitate (when i feed them mainly pellets) would go so solid. its uncrushable!

Do you have gravel in your tank? Maybe it ate a piece and regurgitated it cause it was too big.

I bought my first axolotl 2 days ago, but am having problems with my tank, the water has gone a cloudy white. It has a filter and I washed everything before setting up the tank, any ideas where I'm going wrong? I've never had a tank before and haven't got a clue what i'm doing.

Andrea - read the housing information (and the rest of the information) at this site:

http://www.axolotl.org

Your tank has not cycled if you just set it up and put the axolotl in it. You will need to set up a different container for the axolotl to live in while you let your tank cycle. You will also need a test kit so you can test for ammonia, and nitrite.

After you read the information at axolotl.org, check out the posts in the other sections of this forum to find situations similar to yours and the advice they were given.

After that post new questions if you have and we can go from there.
