This issue recently arrived in my mailbox and on p. 22 is a 5-page article about the Alpine Newt. It's written by Fabrizio Li Vigni, and has good info and pictures. A "box" describing subspecies (of ICHTHYOSAURA alpestris spp.) mentions a certain forum that no one knows how to pronounce (I think it's spelled caudata.org).

A few pages away, on p. 54, is a regular column ("Herper's Most Wanted," by Ken Foose) featuring, this month, the Tiger Salamander. Two pictures are included, a regular one, and an albino one. It's also a good article, though I must admit my favorite line is the box "Handle With Care" that includes this sentence: "All amphibians have the potential of being toxic, even mildly so. Do not lick or kiss your salamander for this reason."

Awww, now I don't want 'em anymore.

Oh heck. They just had to go and ruin it.
I kissed a salamander...and I liked it! I liked the taste of it's cherry chapstick.

Let's hear it for Katy (Critter Mom) Perry! Nice music parody LOL.
