We bought a 6 inch axolotl, Bubbles, on January 8th. Since we brought Bubbles home they've passed 8 pieces of gravel. Yesterday I had to drop the temperature of their tub after there was poop stuck for 12 hours. The store we got them from didn't have the lotls in gravel. So my question is, how long can they pass gravel for? Currently tubbed as I'm cycling the tank with daily water changes. Bubbles is really under weight but appetite is getting better.

time of excreting the gravel will depend on size of the gravel, looking at the gills the gravel was probably ingested due to floating issue and unless multiple size gravel was in the tank it could either take quite a while or even veterinary intervention depending on size.

Here is the size of the gravel.

looks like pea gravel, because of the smooth texture and size if there any more they should pass ok provided any remaining are of similar size.
make sure to change the water in the tub daily with dechlorinated water.
use an air stone in the water to ensure adequate oxygenation.
