Hi,i'm new to the salamander world, last night i got a couple of gallaica fire sals(sorry if i spelt that wrong) at the moment they are only about 3" long, how big can i expect these to get and what size housing would be appropriate for two adults? I keep geckos and whites tree frogs but this is all new to me so please excuse the silly questions.

I have a book that says this sub species shouldn't get much longer than 6".

Hi gina,
I have a pair of gallaica in a glass tank that measures 18x12x12. They have a paper towel substrate with a few broken clay plant pots and bits of bark to hide under. i spary them every day with aged tap water at room temp.
The sals temp never gets above 22degC

The are about 4" or so long and I'd expect them to get a fair bit bigger, but perhaps someone else can answer that properly??? 8 - 10"???

Just remember to feed them a variety of foods, they love earthworms and slugs and make sure they dont get too hot.. no hotter than 25degC!!!

hope that helps a bit

My largest female gallaica measures just over 7 inches in length, and is 5 years old so I suspect now full grown.

My adults are kept in a 3ft tank with a simple set up of damp kitchen paper, a herp shop bought large cave, a water bowl and a hide made from an old roof tile.

Thanks guys, they are in an 18" long plastic tank at the moment with a reptile cave and water bowl on damp kitchen towel and a little corner of moss.
They're such cute little things!

Another quick question, they both ate some worms tonight and i know adults should be fed once or twice a week but how often do you have to feed littluns?
