Hi I was wondering if someone could tell me how safe Polystyrene is. Ive seen a few people using it on this site.I thought polystyrene was full of horible toxins and poisons do you just seal it with a silicon? Thanks

Polystyrene is the material in Styrofoam. It is fairly harmless. People have used it in the design of fish setups for many years. It's also used in floating pet products, such as feeding rings. It is considered fairly inert and harmless. It may release trace amounts of toxic byproducts as it breaks down, but this isn't something I would consider a serious threat.
